Engage Your Patrons with an Eclipse

Park staff and volunteers can support the Eclipse Soundscapes: Citizen Science Project (ES:CSP) and its scientific mission by doing any or all of the following:

  1. Participate as a Data Collector
  2. Organize & Host an Eclipse Learning Event
  3. Be an Eclipse Soundscapes Mentor

Learn more about the details below and sign up here to find out how your library can participate!

Participate as a Data Collector

Male scientist carefully studies his data on a clipboard will standing outside among many trees. An AudioMoth, about the size of a pack of cards, in a plastic bag is attached to a branch of a tree with zip ties.

Collect valuable soundscape data by placing an AudioMoth in your park.

Organize & Host an Eclipse Learning Event

Student lecture in modern university classroom, with lecturer in front of a wall of video screens.

We’d love to bring our subject matter experts and eclipse ambassadors to your community, either virtually or in-person!

Interest Form coming in May/June 2023.

Be an Eclipse Soundscapes Mentor

A group of small school children with teacher on field trip in nature, learning science.

We’d love to have parks guiding their patrons in eclipse scientific exploration either by observing or collecting sound data together during the upcoming 2023 annular solar eclipse or the 2024 total solar eclipse. Perhaps this will be the start of a citizen science club at your Park!
