An eclipse is when an object in space passes into the shadow of another object, making it dark or totally blocking it.  This object can be a planet, a moon, or some other object.  An eclipse always includes a star, like the Sun, and two other objects.  In Lesson 2, you will learn about solar eclipses and lunar eclipses.
