Parks

Park staff can support the Eclipse Soundscapes: Citizen Science Project (ES:CSP) and its scientific mission by being an Eclipse Soundscapes Participant or an Eclipse Soundscapes Facilitator!

Individual participants can support the Eclipse Soundscapes Project and its scientific mission in many different ways. Some of these options are online and some will invite you to get outside to observe or collect data – all will be interesting ways to get more involved in the science surrounding the 2023 annular eclipse and the 2024 total solar eclipse!

As a facilitator you will be the direct link between your communities and Eclipse Soundscapes. As such we hope to be in contact answering questions and collaborating with you to ensure that you and your communities can participate in Eclipse Soundscapes in a meaningful way for everyone! As Eclipse Soundscapes facilitators you will engage your communities in eclipse scientific exploration by introducing and guiding your patrons in some or all of the Eclipse Soundscapes roles available.

Collect valuable eclipse observations on the day of the eclipse or soundscape data during the week of the eclipse by placing an AudioMoth in your park. (Application required for Data Collector Role. All accepted applicants receive free data collection kit.)

Be an Eclipse Soundscapes Facilitator

Guide your patrons in eclipse scientific exploration by engaging in eclipse learning, observing, and/or collecting sound data together during the upcoming 2023 annular solar eclipse or the 2024 total solar eclipse. Perhaps this will be the start of a hands-on science club at your park!
